3rd International Conference on Alcohol and Harm Reduction, South Africa, October 22-25, 2006

IHRA, Q4Q and the University of Limpopo are very pleased to announce that the theme of the conference is: Creating realistic and concrete solutions.

The conference will, as in earlier conferences in Recife, Brazil (2002) and Warsaw, Poland (2004), focus on developing and transitional countries, since in such countries, public policies are often still in the process of being shaped. Since other priorities might overrule the alcohol issue, it is important to find ways to put alcohol higher on their agenda. We want participants to leave with a lot of concrete new ideas, which they can put into practice once returning home. The conference will provide participants with practical ways in which alcohol related harm can be reduced.
